Privacy Policy
Last updated November 8, 2026. We collect only what we need to run the site. We do not sell your data.
Indie Torch (indietorch.com) is run by Orosfort Private Limited ("Orosfort", "we", "us").
What we collect
- Account details: email address, name, avatar and optional profile links, from email sign-in or Google sign-in.
- Content you post: products, logos, screenshots, votes and, if enabled, comments. Products you submit are public once approved.
- Technical data: IP address and request details, used for rate limiting, bot protection and abuse prevention.
- Usage analytics: from your first page load we use Google Analytics (loaded through Cloudflare) and Cloudflare Web Analytics. They record pages viewed, clicks on outbound links, votes, device and browser, approximate location and your IP address. You can opt out at any time with the notice on the site or on the Cookie Policy page.
How we use it
- To run the site: sign you in, show your products and count votes.
- To send sign-in links and moderation emails about your submissions.
- To prevent spam, fake votes and abuse.
- To understand which pages are used so we can improve them.
Legal bases
If you are in the UK or EU, we process your data to perform our agreement with you (running your account), for our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, improving the service) and, where required, with your consent.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the services that help us run the site:
- Cloudflare: hosting, database, file storage, bot protection (Turnstile), tag management and analytics.
- Google: Google Analytics, for usage analytics (see above).
- Google: optional sign-in, only if you choose it.
- Resend: delivery of sign-in and notification emails.
We may also disclose data if the law requires it or to protect the site and its users.
Retention
We keep your account and content until you delete them or ask us to. Rate limiting and security logs are kept for a short time. Backups may hold deleted data for a limited period.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to or restrict some processing. Edit your profile and products from your dashboard, or email hello@indietorch.com and we will reply within 30 days.
Cookies
We use essential cookies and analytics cookies. See the Cookie Policy, where you can also opt out of analytics.
Children
Indie Torch is not for children under 13 (or 16 where local law requires). We do not knowingly collect their data. If you think we have, email us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than your own. They use recognised safeguards for those transfers.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and, for big changes, tell you on the site or by email.
